Founding Principal of Rennie Design Stuart Rennie was born in Glasgow and brought up in the Highlands of Scotland where he developed his passion and love for landscape and the environment and the game of golf.
Professional practice experience has been gained working as a Landscape Architect for two of the UK’s leading multi disciplinary practices for over 6 years as well as working internationally within 5 times British Open Champion Peter Thomson’s specialist team at Thomson Perrett Golf Course Architects in Melbourne Australia.
“Becoming a professional Landscape Architect and Golf Course Architect has developed from growing up in the Highlands of Scotland where I had the fantastic opportunity to explore the natural environment on offer. I have always had a passion for the outdoors as well as being an avid artist from a young age, this saw me studying Fine Art before embarking on the five year Landscape Architecture MA hons degree and then a further two years Post Graduate in Golf Course Architecture. Being able to combine all of these passions has seen me progress into my dream job. I take a lot of inspiration from my experiences growing up in the highlands and the fantastic childhood it offered as well as the places, which my career has taken me to so far.
I am very lucky and proud to have learnt to play golf in its home country Scotland and to be associated with ‘Muir-of-Ord’ and ‘Royal Dornoch’ Golf Clubs where I have been fortunate to hold memberships from a young age.”
Rennie Design are enjoying developing the business based in Scotland and will be happy to discuss any projects where our specialist capabilities can be put into professional practice.
